Sarsfields 2-13 Turloughmore 2-13

Sarsfields and Turloughmore must meet again after finishing level in a brilliant quarter final tie played in Loughrea on Sunday evening. Despite playing only two days after their victory over Liam Mellows in the previous round, Sarsfields started brightly and, helped by a superb penalty save from goalkeeper Seamus Keane and an overhead flick from Joseph Cooney for a goal, led by 1-8 to 1-5 at the break. A brilliant goal from Liam Michael Kelly early in the second half looked to have swung the tie in Sarsfield's favour but Turloughmore staged a great fightback and led by a point with time almost up. Niall Morrissey pointed a pressure free in injury time to leave the scores level at 2-13 to 2-13. The scorers for Sarsfields were Niall Morrissey 0-5 (0-3 frees), Joseph Cooney 1-2, Liam Michael Kelly 1-1, Gerard Dolan 0-2, Barry McMahon 0-1, Alan Ward 0-1 and Darragh Keane 0-1.

The team was Seamus Keane, David Connaughton, Darren Skehill, Brian McLoughlin, Thomas Spellman, Niall Quinn, Stephen Earls, Ivan Kenny, Gerard Dolan, Niall Morrissey, Joseph Cooney, Barry McMahon, Cathal Kelly, Liam Michael Kelly and Alan Ward. Subs: Darragh Keane for Barry McMahon and Dylan Madden for Seamus Keane (inj).
