Sarsfields 1-14 Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry 0-17
Sarsfields drew with Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry in their first match of this years senior league competition played in Tynagh on Sunday. Tynagh were very impressive in the first half and lead by 9pts to 6pts at half time. However, Sarsfields staged a fightback in the second half and, aided by a fine Ian Skehill goal, were back within a point with time almost up. Kerril Wade put over a free in the last minute to leave the scores level at 1-14 to 0-17. The scorers for Sarsfields were: Kerril Wade 0-11 (8f), Ian Skehill 1-0, Sean Kelly 0-1, Kevin Hynes 0-1 and Niall Morrissey 0-1.
The team was Fergal Hynes, Cathal Murray, Eamon Cleary, Keiran Kelly, Darragh Earls, Diarmuid Murray, Ciaran Dolan, Kevin Hynes, Joseph Burke, Ian Skehill, Sean Kelly, Cyril Murray, Kerril Wade, Patrick McMahon and Ronan Quinn. Subs: Niall Morrissey for Patrick McMahon, Niall Quinn for Cyril Murray, Darren Skehill for Joseph Burke, Gerard McMahon for Ian Skehill and Ivan Kenny for Ronan Quinn.
Sarsfields now play Carnmore on Saturday Mar 26th at 4pm in Bullaun in next round of the senior league.
